Community

I come from Nukukaisi village in Makira Province. My community is very corporative with community work and it has very good leaders and respectful people. Our community need to have access to commercial development projects that can provide employment for our rural people so they earn income to meet their ends.

Myself

Phillip at Mavo beach, Ramata

I’m a very simple and friendly person who loves working as a team with friendly, honest, reliable and respectful people. My computer technical skills level is very good. I teach basic computer courses for teachers, students and the public. I’m grateful to work as a DLC Supervisor with opportunities to attend international conferences and workshops like wikieducator and learn new skills using internet technology and be able to share with others. I wish to acquire and master Networking skills and Project Management skills.-Email me by clicking this

Work

Bekabeka VSAT dish

I work as a Supervisor with the Distance Learning Centres Project which is an European Union funded project through the Ministry of Education that is establishing Distance Learning centres in rural community high schools in all nine provinces in the Solomon Islands with access to the internet using VSAT broadband. Iam currently the Supervisor for Bekabeka Distance Learning centre. My work mainly involves providing basic computer training for school students(both primary and secondary) and the general public, facilitating students doing courses through distance education, managing daily operations of the centre and making monthly meetings with the Centre's Executive committee and write monthly reports. I was involved with Batuna RTC Wireless link project and OLPC trial pilot project at Marovo lagoon in the Western Province.

Impact
