hi Victor,just wanna say 'twatotela' for your efforts in promoting OER and bringing light to most of us in Zambia. I believe you have automatically helped ppo in TZ too, haven't you? well, after getting my certificate yest. i couldnt help feeling guilty; so i have started to do something and yes...i can!will be there one day! m still having a problem with templates, kindly help. zikomo and bye for now.

Hi Ann,

I have gone through your OER and beleive you are right on-spot. I have made just a few edits on the page. I will take a look at the page later this weekend again and give you comments. For now i beleive its ok apart from the future need to create and insert a Navigation template and then either "move" the page to a stand alone WE site after all is completed or create a "redirect".

unfortunately we dont have internet facilities at our workplace as a result we will end up forgetting what we have learnt.

I dont remember replying to this. If i have, forgive me. Not having internet at your school should not deter you from perfecting or building upon your knowledge in Wikis - it is the future, and i can assure you that when you want to move up on you carear ladder, stating confidently to any institution or organisation that you can be more productive because you are a wikieducator (or expert in wikis) will be a major advantage.

If you are committed to this, spend some resources and time to use cafes and other internet options to practice and perfect. The TEC at CYPRCA is also available for your practice.

I beleive that keeping your page light with clear spaces are good for readers. even where the picture was, it was still a bit difficult for me to find the link. I suggest you copy the link alone (again) either to the top of the page where it will still be seen. It is not a crime to have one link placed at several points on the same page (smile). Thanks, Victor, for correcting part of my text on my user page. I feel glad to be read and even corrected! If I understand you right you mean, there are exeptions to the rather general statements I made about wiki users from Africa. I agree fully. In the other hand you, with your native background and experience do not object to the critic I have towards WikiEd. Is that right? And if yes, how do you see this problem? Don't we have to discuss it publicly? Are the young folk you know from your projects for example able to use texts from WikiEd, or even to participate actively? Can they cope with these rather anonymous internet-relations? Greetings from Bavaria/South Germany, Günther

Hi Friends,

The current WIkiEd text syntaxes are about as friendly as it can be (at least to me). The few young people from my region who have participated i beleive are able to comprehend what its all about and use them appropriatly. However the challengers possed by other factors, such as power failours, slow connections and lack of time and financial resources to constantly be on the net is really affecting development here in Africa. The issue of anonymity may also be a factor, but that is why some of us (WikiNeigbhours) have taken it upon ourselves to try and give a personal touch to the pages of several users.

I agree with you however that there are numerous weeknesses to WikiEd and yes, they must be discussed publicly. Perhaps, we will be able to create a special development page for such discussions shortly?

The page you have is yours forever, you have to keep updating it, refining and making it better for yourself and your friends who will be viewing it from time to time (like myself - laugh). I have notice on your page how well you have tried to make the open learning of Excel, etc, a reality. Please keep it up - good work.
