Launching of WikiEd L4C campaign for teachers in India
Dr.Ramakrishnan Srinivasan , a very enthusiastic WE Ambassador from Karnataka has proposed the release of a joint statement by the WE community members "A computer literate, internet enabled teacher is better equipped to create nation-building generation" on the Teachers Day.
After discussions with community members and COL & CEMCA officials during PCF5 held in London it was decided to arrange an official launch of L4C (Learning for Content) campaign in India focusing teachers and to issue a joint statement from the WEs in India based on the above theme.
Content Development Workshop in Tamil Nadu, India
An L4C workshop for L3 Farmers in India was held at Arul Anandar College, Madurai in Tamil Nadu state, India from 16/05/2008 to 18/05/2008. Twenty five persons participated. For further details please visit the workshop report page from here
Colombo Workshop on OAER
COL in Association with Sri Lanka Association of Distance Educators has organized a Content Development Workshop on Open (Agricultural) Education Resources (as part of L3 Farmers Project) at Colombo, Sri Lanka from 31/03/2008 to 03/04/2008 for the University Partners. Delegates from University of Jaffna, Open University of Sri Lanka, University of Colombo, Eastern University of Sri Lanka, and University of Ruhuna have attended the workshop. Under the guidance of Dr. Krishna Alluri (Education Specialist, COL) and Prof. (Mrs). Uma Coomaraswamy (COL Consultant for L3 Farmers Project, Sri Lanka) Wiki Educators from India Mr. Raji N.R and Mr. P. Anil Prasad have facilitated the workshop. As part of the workshop each of the University teams has prepared an interactive lesson on WikiEducator.

Induction Programme for Elementary Teacher Educators
An innovative project demands attention
Induction Programme for Teacher Educators is a collaborative development of a web-based programme for teacher educators who are working in the District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) in India. The programme is a collaborative work of the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysore and the Department of State Education Research and Training (DSERT), Bangalore. The peer team consists of teacher educators from both these institutions, the University Departments of Education and the DIET Faculty.
