My proposal is to fit the steps more around the wikipedia "Simple English". So a lexical syllabus looks like this:
- European framework basic user level A2 (Wordlist from Cambridge KET)
- Simple English (approximately the same size but more based on Basic English)
- European framework level B1 independent user
- The academic word list developed by Avril Coxhead see [1]
