Definition
Algebra
- Algebra can be defined as the manipulation of symbols such as x, to represent an unknown number in solving problems. The symbols also could be interpreted as symmetries of an object, as the position of a switch, as an instruction to a machine, or as a way to design a statistical experiment.
- Math area that provides tools for picturing, stating, and simplifying relationships; generalization of arithmetic ideas by which unknown values and variables can be found in problem solving.
