In this course, Education and Public Awareness in Disaster Management is covered in three parts (I, II and III) over this unit (Unit 5) and the following two units (Units 6 and 7). This unit takes you through the Community Based Approach to Education and Public Awareness in Disaster Management. The Community Based Approach highlights the key roles that Communities play in creating Preparedness Plans and carrying out Awareness on Hazards within their Communities.
