Perhaps a more appropriate image could be found and used? What does a purple waxed finger represent? -- Jtneill - Talk - c 04:01, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

It's not wax, it's indelible ink, and it represents a free and fair election. In many countries, particularly developing ones, after someone votes in a political election their finger is dipped in ink to ensure that they can't vote again.
