LAME - LAME is a high quality MPEG Audio Layer III (MP3) encoder licensed under the LGPL. It is necessary to install LAME in order provide Audacity the power to export MP3s.

waveform - the shape and form of a signal pictorally represented as a repeating image on a screen. In Audacity each track is represented as a blue waveform.
