My profile

My name is Patrick Spaven. I live in Brighton England. I am a consultant in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and results-based management (RBM) working independently. I started out as a social researcher and then got sidetracked for 24 years working for the British Council, a cultural relations organisation, in a number of countries including Pakistan, Kenya, Spain and Sweden.

My interests

I'm interested in:

  • I do regular training in M&E and RBM and am interested in wikis as a route to making good training material in these areas more widely available and improving it through the wisdom of crowds. I think these are good areas for the wiki approach because there is no rocket science involved - it's about what works best for people.

Comments

  • Great to see you in the tutorial, Patrick, and to see your user page. Do you have any concerns about the quality of educational resources developed using an open authoring approach? If so, what are your concerns? If not, how does an open authoring approach contribute to high quality learning materials. --Phil Bartle 06:21, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Phil, have you checked the discussion page for EL425 ? You may want to add the question there, too. --Nellie Deutsch 07:23, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
