Project Introduction

Media

We are a team of 3 Master of Instructional Design and Technology students, working on a joint project to design a module on how to motivate teachers to incorporate emerging technologies into instruction

Problem statement

It appears that many educators face challenges with incorporating technology into instruction despite the advantages offered by technologically enhanced learning. There is even much more resistance by educators in adopting Web 2.0 and Open Educational Resources to enhance learning.

Objectives

Upon completion of the two units of the module, an educator will:
  • identify effective instructional technologies
  • explain the value of technology in enhancing learning
  • locate relevant Open Educational Resources
  • design short lessons to be delivered through technology using web 2.0 applications and tools
  • discuss sample lessons with other educators
  • select appropriate strategies for using technology in instruction
