Hi folks,
I just got off the phone with the good folks over at Kathy & Co. Flowers. Kathy tells me that leaving carnations out of water overnight in advance of the experiment will make it go much faster (good for grade schoolers!!). She recomended that we keep them cool prior to use and then make a fresh cut right before sticking them in the dye.
